Sparco was established in 1977 by two racing drivers who shared a passion for promoting safety in motorsport.
By 1978 the first Sparco race suit was developed which was able to withstand fire for 11 seconds which is in accordance with the FIA 8856-2000 regulation.
In the same year production began on other items of motorsport clothing such as Sparco boots, Sparco gloves and Sparco helmets.
